Outage Report Precheck
Before reporting an outage, check the “Network Status Monitor” below to see if the IT department is already aware of the issue.
If any indicator is red on the monitor, IT has already been sent an alert about the outage.

If any of the indicators below are red, IT has already been alerted to the outage, and you do not need to create a ticket.
Note: this is only an automated monitoring and alerting system, it’s not foolproof, these indicators are NOT set to red or green by a human, but by a machine.
When one of these indicators turns red, IT is automatically sent an alert on their desk PC, email, and cell phone. The automated testing and alerting system is run every 20 seconds.
If all indicators are green, but you think something is down, it’s possible that something is “down enough” to not function properly, but “working enough” that automated tests will stay green.
Colorblind users: the green indicator, , contains a white check mark symbol. The red indicator, , contains a white x symbol.
